ColourQ Challenge #117

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!  Ours was fantastic.  Reality has already set in.  I had to go to work the day after Christmas.  It was hard to get in work mode, but I had to.

Anyhow, here is the challenge for this week.  It is a special challenge and one that I found fun! :)

Here is my Twilight card:

This is the inside:
This is the back:
Here is the cover of the book to explain why I put the chess piece on the front of the card:
I made this card for my sister's birthday.  She loves Twilight almost as much as I do! ;)  I embossed the swirl with white embossing powder.

I LOVED making this card! I have seen the movie twice (on the same day :))

Hope you like it!  Happy New Year!!  Have a creative day!!!

ColourQ Challenge #116

Hello again!  It's another week and another challenge at the ColourQ!  Here are the colors this week:

This week I decided to make a snowflake wall or door hanging.  Here it is:

I took some more pics up closer so you could see the detail a bit better on here:

And this is the top one close up so you can see more detail:
I cut the snowflakes with my Cricut.  Then I embossed them with my snowflake Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I wanted to glitter them, so I used some glitter that I have that looks more like real snow than glitter.  This is a fun decoration!!

Hope you like it!  Thanks for stopping by.  :)  Have a very Merry Christmas!!  Have a creative day!

ColourQ Challenge #115

Hello again!  I hope you are all having a pleasant Christmas season.  I have felt lots of stress in getting ready, but I finally got my shopping done this week and now it is time to get it wrapped.  My son helped me make Candy Cane cookies last week, so we have been enjoying peppermint yumminess!  I took time to make a card this week for the ColourQ because I have a couple of birthdays I needed cards for soon. :)

The color palette this week inspired me to make a female birthday card, even though you could make a darling Christmasy card with these:

 Here is my card:
I recolored some of the flowers in Photoshop, printed and then hand cut the flowers, stems and leaves out.  I hope my recipients like it!  I hope you like it too.  I so love your comments!  So be sure and leave me one. :)  Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a creative day!!

ColourQ Challenge #114

This week's challenge is Anything But a Card! I was really excited to make something that I had seen on another blog with these colors and make it my own.  Here is the color pallette for the ColourQ #114:

So here is what I made:

It is a wood block that I sanded and painted with a kraft color and adhered scrapbook paper.  In the picture below, you can see a close up of the ribbon that I attached to the back of the block, added a binder clip (tied with more ribbon, a piece of bakers twine and a brad added for embellishment) and clipped our Christmas card on.

I am really happy with how this turned out!  It is a fun way to display our Christmas card.

This is such a fabulous project that can be used for anytime, not just Christmas.  I am going to be making more of these for sure!!  You can clip anything on: recipes, quotes, photos, lists, whatever!  So versatile!!

Here is the blog that I got the idea from: http://todaysfabulousfinds.blogspot.com/2011/09/interchangeable-photoquoterecipe-block.html

From our house to yours: Merry Christmas!!!

I love you comments!!  Have a creative day!!
