Colour Q Challenge #84

Hallelujah!
Blogger is working again. I wanted to post my card yesterday and couldn't. I have NOT been patiently waiting for Blogger to work again. But it is up now and I am very happy! :)  I am excited to show you my card!

Once again, here I am with my ColourQ card for Challenge #84

Here is the color palette:

These colors screamed ‘Rock Star’ to me, so that is what I ran with this week.

I LOVE stars and I was excited that I could implement them in my card this week.

I have to thank my dear friend Andrea for letting me borrow a stamp pad.  This card wouldn’t have worked without it!  Thanks again so much!!
I had my card all made and then decided that it needed the ‘grunge factor’.  So I distressed it, inked the edges of the card and then cut some ‘holes’ in the background paper to mimic those found in distressed jeans.  I also wadded up the star strip to give that the weathered look.

I really did use the Daffodil Delight!  Just have to look closely to see it.  (Matting the Old Olive embossed star paper).
I think this is a fun card.  Let me know what you think!  Your comments make my day!!
I also wanted to mention that I never look at the samples or others uploaded work for that
challenge until my card is done.  That way, I know my creation is my own.  But then I LOVE seeing what everyone else makes!  Everyone is so creative!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Stampin Up!, DCWV, other; Stamps: Inkadinkadoo, Kelly Panacci for SandyLion, Autumn Leaves; Punches: Stampin Up!, Fiskars, EK Success; Ink: Stampin Up!; Cuttlebug and Embossing Folders: Provo Craft, Embossing Powder: American Crafts; Paper Distresser: Making Memories; Adhesives: Glue Dots and Pop Dots.

Colour Q Challenge #83

It has been an interesting week.  I was feeling very uninspired, to say the least.  We had a loved one die this week and it has thrown us all for a loop.  But, I really needed a thank you card for my Mother-in-Law for helping me last week when my neck was having spasms.  So I had to fight through the inspiration thing and move along.  Here are the colors for this weeks ColourQ Challenge :

These are fun, happy colors.  I knew I needed a card to match.  And here is the card I made:

From the photo it's a bit hard to tell, but I embossed the white paper with large dots.

I think that I truly may have reached insanity!  For this card, I painstakingly glued on the centers to those tiny flowers.  I kept questioning my saneness as I glued each one on.  But it looks cute!

I used cardstock from DCWV and unknown, Cricut with Walk in My Garden and Accent Essentials cartridges, Cuttlebug and folder, font Nauvoo and Photoshop to create the sentiment and inside.  I also used an EK Success circle punch, Stampin Up! 1 3/8" punch and a Fiskars punch.

I decorated the inside a little too this week:

I hope you like it!  Have a wonderful day!

ColourQ Challenge #82

Hi again!  Seriously, I wasn't so sure I was going to get a card out this week.  I had to take care of things this week that don't normally happen (like defrosting my freezer).  Then on Wednesday, I hurt my neck and yesterday was completely out of commission!  Thank heaven for the chiropractor and my amazing Mother in Law who came to help me care for my kiddos!  Today I have more range of motion, but it is still very sore and I have to careful what I do. I can't lift and it is amazing how many things I want to lift in a day!  It is hard to put up with setbacks, but we have to take the good with the bad.

So, today I finally got a chance to sit down and make a card for the ColourQ Challenge #82  Whoa Nellie!  These colors are a challenge!  I wouldn't have put these together on my own, but I was pleasantly surprised how they work together.  Here are the colors:

I took the circle inspiration from the sample to create my card:

I used cardstock from Stampin Up! and other, ribbon by Offray and American Crafts, Stamps by G Studio and Stampin Up!, circle punches by Fiskars and EK Success.  I had to use my Cricut to cut the mat to the "thanks" with the George cartridge.  Ink is Stampin Up!

I call this card Simply Circles.

I always need a good 'male' card and I think this one really fits the bill.  Thanks again for the challenge!  It was fun.  Let me know what you think!!  Have a wonderful day!

Courtier Again!

Hello everyone.  I hope you had a wonderful Easter.  I am so excited to have made courtier again this week with my flower card!  I hope I can come up with an idea for this weeks colors.  They don't call this a challenge for nothing!  As soon as I have some time to make a card, I will post it when it's done.  Have a wonderful day!

Colour Q Challenge #81

Hi again!  It was sad to miss last week's challenge, but we were on vacation and we had an amazing time!  The break was so nice.  So this week I am back in the saddle.  Here are the colors for the
ColourQ Challenge #81:

We have had SO much snow and rain the past few weeks that I am SO looking forward to some sunshine and pretty flowers.  I made a flower card with these pretty soft pastels colors in the challenge:

I used cardstock from DCWV, Stampin Up! and unknown, Inks from Stampin Up!, Cricut machine and these cartridges: Straight From the Nest, Accent Essentials and Sweet Treats, Stamp is by G Studio, Punches from Fiskars and Marcy Uchida, adhesives and pop dots.

I has a circle card with white cardstock on the back of the flower that you can't see from the photo.

I hope you can enjoy this spring flower as much as I do!  Have a wonderful day!  Thanks for looking at my blog.  I SO appreciate it!  I also LOVE your comments so please me leave one. ;)

Hooray!

I was stunned to learn that I was chosen this last week as a Colour Q Courtier with my bird card!

Thanks Colour Q!  I am honored.

Alas, there won't be a card from me this week.  It was Spring Break and we were out of town.  I am still trying to unbury myself from the laundry.  Wish me luck!

Colour Q Challenge #79

What a week.  We have been sick at our house.  NO fun!  So even though I am not 100%, I still tried the Colour Q Challenge this week.  Here are the colors:

I needed to make a birthday card this week, so I went that route with the challenge.  Here's my card:

It says 'Just Flyin' By' on the front.  And as a bonus, I did the inside too:

Let me know what you think!  Have a wonderful day!!

Supplies: Cardstock: DCWV and other, Straight from the Nest Cricut Cartridge, Font: Girls are Weird, Cuttlebug Embossing Folders.
