Wow. I am slow this week to get my card made and blogged. It has been a busy week, more than usual. I also had a bunch of ideas floating around in my head, and not sure which one to run with. I actually made 2 cards this week with the ColourQ challenge #88 color pallate, which is:
I went with the Father's Day theme this week (thanks Arielle for the masculine colors!)
I really wish the photo was clearer, but I hope you can see enough of the detail to appreciate what it looks like in real life! For this card, I used a calendar stamp set I have had and never played with before. I thought it would be fun to play up the 'day' part of 'Happy Dad Day'. I stamped the calendar and then used another stamp set with numbers and filled in the dates. It's hard to tell from the photo, but I used a circle stamp on Sunday the 19th and then put the heart on the date square. I like how it turned out.
For the second card, I wanted to use the cute Dad on the Car Decals Cricut Cartridge. So here is the card I made with him:
I used the Traffic Jam Cuttlebug Embossing Folder on the Cherry Cobbler and I liked the shapes of the squares so much that I hand cut the Happy Father's Day 'squares' so it would match the squares in the embossing. Then I found the perfect square clips to match, so I folded the corner and added the clip.
I hope it's OK that I have two cards. If I can only enter one, I'll use the first one.
Thanks for looking and as always, I love, love, love your comments! Have a wonderful weekend!!!
